Recommendations collected from people in class

I teach. You tell me where to eat.

How it started

It started with one question in a classroom.

Every class I teach, I open with the same icebreaker: "Where's the best place you've eaten?"

Within seconds, the chat fills up. Students from Lagos, Berlin, Bangalore, São Paulo, Tokyo — all sharing a single favorite spot, unprompted, with a specificity no algorithm can replicate.

What started as a way to warm up a Zoom room became something I couldn't stop thinking about. These weren't reviews. They were confessions — the places people actually go when no one is watching.

So I kept asking. Class after class. Thousands of recommendations later, the atlas is still growing.

The trade

A class from me. A meal from you.

Every recommendation on Foodie started the same way — at the end of a free teaching session, someone told me about the place they can't stop thinking about.

I debated a lot whether I should enrol in this course. There are a few great courses on Maven, so the decision was not easy. I finally decided to enrol, but with the thought that I would maybe ask for a refund in the first week if I didn't like it. But I got hooked right away by the friendly and accessible explanations…

This is the best foundational course for building LLM applications that I've taken. The course strikes a good balance of not being overly technical in terms of code, so someone with a business or non-technical background can definitely learn a lot. Coming from a technical background myself, I wondered why Hamza didn't…
